CLASS OF 1953

Barbara Jean Mitchell has distinguished herself as a lifelong resident of Belleville. Barbara graduated from BHS in 1953, where she enjoyed participating in GAA Basketball and Band. She graduated from Eastern with both a Bachelors and a Masters degree. Then she began teaching 1st and 2nd grade at Quirk and Haggerty Elementary. She was an active member of the community where she was involved as an active member of the Belleville United Methodist Church, Van Buren’s September Days, Belleville Band Boosters, and the VBPS Distinguished Graduate Program.
